Leimer to make F1 practice debut with Manor

Fabio Leimer will drive for the Manor F1 Team during opening practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Leimer, the 2013 GP2 Series champion, was appointed Manor’s official reserve driver last month. The Swiss racer will drive Roberto Merhi’s MR03B on Friday morning at the Hungaroring to familiarise himself with the car. “On this most difficult of weekends for the team, I am very appreciative of their decision to continue with my planned FP1 session. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity and I hope I can make a positive contribution to the engineering programme for the weekend.” Manor team principal John Booth added: “Running Fabio in a Free Practice 1 session is a planned...
