Ecclestone to decide on 2017 tyre supplier

– Formula 1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone is to meet with representatives from Pirelli and Michelin to decide which company should supply the sport with tyres from the start of the 2017 season.Pirelli has been Formula 1's sole tyre supplier since 2011 but the FIA opened up a tender process earlier in the year for the next contract, which will run between 2017 and 2019.Both Pirelli and Michelin have submitted bids, with the latter seeking to return to Formula 1 for the first time since 2006, when it was embroiled in a tyre war with Bridgestone.The FIA has confirmed that both submitted bids have complied with the technical and safety requirements.Ecclestone will now conduct commercial...
