Merhi involved in massive crash at Red Bull Ring (Video)
Roberto Merhi has been involved in a huge crash at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Away from his Formula 1 duties, Merhi drives for Pons in the World Series by Renault series. Driving in the first race at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday, Merhi crossed the line to take 4th spot. Immediately after crossing the line, the Manor Marussia F1 driver slowed considerably for no discernible reason. Behind him, 5th place finish Nicolas Lafiti failed to spot that he was closing in rapidly on the Spaniard and slammed heavily into the back of him. Resulting in a huge impact, the finish line became a scene of carnage as the chequered flag was mixed with yellow flags to warn drivers. Both drivers were OK,...
