Piquet Jr. claims first Formula E title

FIA Formula E Former Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr. became the first Formula E champion when the inaugural season of the electric racing series came to a close in London on Sunday. Piquet Jr raced for Renault in 2008 and 2009 though his presence in the sport has been associated with the 'Crashgate' scandal in Singapore. Piquet Jr. since spent time racing in America before joining Formula E, where he beat Sebastien Buemi to the crown by a single point after an 11 round season.
