Ricciardo, Kvyat to take Austrian GP grid penalties

Even before the weekend of Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s home race begins, the team are already on the back foot with the news that both Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat will take grid penalties. Both Red Bull drivers are switching to a fifth Renault power unit, with this move instantly incurring the grid penalties. The team decided that as they are expecting a tough weekend in Austria with the track demanding a strong engine package, something Renault do not currently have compared to Mercedes or Ferrari, that it would be practical to switch to the new power unit at the Red Bull Ring.
