Williams co-founder Head awarded knighthood
Williams F1 Team co-founder and former technical director Patrick Head has been awarded a knighthood for his services to motorsport. Head and Sir Frank Williams founded Williams in 1977. He held the role of technical director until 2004, before moving over to director of engineering. He stepped down from the Williams board at the end of 2011. The team has so far scored 113 wins, nine constructors' championships and seven drivers' titles. It was announced on Friday night that the 69-year-old has been awarded a knighthood in Queen Elizabeth II's 2015 Birthday Honours list.
