Alonso: I can win title in 2016 F1
Fernando Alonso reckons his fall down of a season with new team McLaren could turn into a title-winning one next year. The Spaniard, who had to retire for a third time in five races in last Sunday’s Monaco grand prix with a gearbox problem, expects the team to be more competitive next year. McLaren have been in a weak position with reliability problems with the Honda engine, but the double time world champion says he expects the team to work through the problems before coming back stronger next year. “I still want to be world champion again – and I can be,” he said. “This year it is not possible, so the more problems that happen in this championship the better.
