Ecclestone happy with V6s if costs controlled
– Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has said that he would be happy for the sport to continue using the current V6 turbocharged power units, providing costs for customer teams can be controlled.Ahead of this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix, Ecclestone was quoted as saying that he wanted Formula 1 to ditch the new turbo era and return to the previous V8 engines.But speaking on Sunday, following a meeting in which proposals such as boosting the current units to 1000hp – for 2017 – were discussed, Ecclestone's offered a fresh outlook."Sure.
