Alonso: Finishing is the main priority

Fernando Alonso has stated that McLaren’s main priority is to reach the chequered flag during tomorrow’s Chinese Grand Prix, after yet another miserable qualifying performance by the Woking-based outfit. For the third race weekend in succession both McLaren drivers were eliminated from proceedings after only Q1, with the outfit’s reunion with engine supplier Honda continuing to yield uncompetiteive results. Last time out in Malaysia both Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso were forced into retirement, with mechanical issues striking the car.
