Shanghai Qualifying: Hamilton on pole from Rosberg
Lewis Hamilton has been unbeatable in all four pre-race sessions of the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, as he claimed pole position for the Chinese Grand Prix with a scintillating first run in Q3 which was enough to annex the top spot start for the race in Shanghai. Hamilton's first run time of 1:35.782 was three tenths quicker than Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg's first attempt, and also faster than Hamilton's second attempt. Rosberg gave a determined push on his final hot lap but was still short by a mere 0.042 of a second – the closest he has come to his teammate all weekend.
