Merhi confident of retaining Manor seat for China

Roberto Merhi is convinced he will return to the cockpit of the Manor Marussia car in the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai next weekend. Merhi, 24, got to the finish in his first-ever Grand Prix start in Malaysia last weekend, albeit three laps behind winner Sebastian Vettel. Looking back, he said he was honoured to have been nominated for the racing role by the former Marussia team in the days before the 2015 season opener in Melbourne. "It helped me a lot in that the team believes in me," he told Spain's Diario Sport. "I drove for them in F3 in 2009, competing against (Valtteri) Bottas, (Jules) Bianchi, (Daniel) Ricciardo and other drivers who also reached F1." He...
