Buemi pips Abt to Long Beach pole

It was e.dams' Sebastien Buemi who stole pole position in the dying moments of qualifying ahead of Daniel Abt and Championship-leader Nico Prost. Group 1: Having secured pole position in two of the last three races, all eyes were on Jean-Eric Vergne to provide a magical table-topping lap time, and set a high standard very early on by beating Lucas di Grassi’s best lap time from FP3 with a 57.221. Scott Speed was two tenths shy. Jaime Alguersuari followed on a 57.4 ahead of Heidfeld and Pic. It would ultimately be a battle between the two Andretti drivers as Vergne lowered the time even further by clocking a 57.106. Team-mate Speed would follow up with a 57.156 for second. No further...
