Grosjean handed two-place grid penalty for jumping pitlane queue
Romain Grosjean will now start from the tenth spot on the grid after a two-place penalty for joining the queue of cars in the pitlane at the start of Q2 out of position. With torrential rain just over the horizon, teams released cars into the fast lane to jockey for the best position when the lights went green; however, Lotus only released Grosjean after the cars stretched behind their garage. The Frenchman’s cutting in front of Williams’ Felipe Massa contravened Sporting Regulations Article 23.6, which reads as follows: “Any car(s) driven to the end of the pit lane prior to the start or re-start of a practice session must form up in a line in the fast lane and leave in the order...
