FIA officially cancel German Grand Prix
The German Grand Prix has been officially removed from the 2015 Formula 1 schedule by the FIA. The sports governing body confirmed the news on Friday, meaning that Germany will fail to host a Grand Prix for the first time since the 1960 Formula 1 season. The Nurburgring was initially scheduled to host the event in July, but with the track under new ownership, talks with the new owners collapsed during the winter. Officials in Hockenheim were then unable to agree a deal with Bernie Ecclestone, and had revealed earlier during the week that they had given up on attempting to host the race this year.
