Van der Garde Settlement Costs Sauber Dear

Sauber have settled the court action taken by driver Giedo van de Garde against them, in return for a hefty out of court settlement, the 29 year old confirmed rumours by issuing a statement. He told media that his contract had been ‘ended by mutual consent.' The Dutch driver has sued the Swiss team for breach of contract, having  paid them  a reported sum of around £8 million to secure a 2015 seat. However, the team then signed two other drivers (Nasr and Ericsson), leaving Giedo without a drive and no compensation.
