Renault: ‘We seem to have gone backwards'

Following a disastrous Australian Grand Prix for the two Renault powered teams, Managing Director Cyril Abiteboul has admitted to his frustrations at having seemed to have gone backwards relative to their competitors. It was a nightmare weekend for both Red Bull & Toro Rosso, starting immediately on Friday when Daniel Ricciardo had an engine failure. The failure was comprehensive enough to eliminate one of Daniel's 4 race engines for the year, having only covered around 60 kilometres. He received a new engine for the remainder of the weekend, but complained of bad drivability and power delivery throughout qualifying and the race, with similar complaints from Daniil Kvyat.
