Van der Garde and Sauber reach agreement

Sauber F1 Team Giedo van der Garde and Sauber have reached an agreement which will see the Dutchman give up his legal rights to a race seat in Australia. Van der Garde and Sauber have bee embroiled in a series of court cases, with the legal system so far siding with van der Garde. But after extensive talks on Friday night, the parties confirmed that a deal had been struck. "With respect to the interest of motorsport, and F1 in particular, I have decided to give up my legal rights to race this weekend at the Melbourne Grand Prix," read Van der Garde's statement.
