Whitmarsh to join Ainslie's America's Cup team

McLaren's former team principal Martin Whitmarsh is due to make a return to the public eye according to the Daily Telegraph which claims he is to join Ben Ainslie's America's Cup sailing team. Whitmarsh left McLaren at the start of the 2014 season following disappointing results and has remained off the radar since. He will reportedly take up the role of CEO, reporting to Ainslie. Another F1 figure is also involved in the project following a consultancy deal with Red Bull Technologies and Adrian Newey who will be involved in designing the yacht.
