Sauber fail in appeal against van der Garde ruling

Sauber will be forced to run Giedo van der Garde at this weekend's Australian Grand Prix after their appeal against yesterday's decision was rejected. The Dutchman has been in a long-standing battle with the Swiss team over his eligibility to race at the Australian Grand Prix, saying that he has a valid contract to compete in 2015. This was agreed by a judge ealier this week, and ruled that Sauber must race van der Garde this season. Sauber immediately appealed the decision, which was heard on Thursday morning at Melbourne Supreme Court (10:30pm wednesday UK time).
