Saubes loses van der Garde appeal

An Australian court has upheld the decision to allow Giedo van der Garde to race for the Sauber Formula One team in Melbourne this weekend. The Dutch driver, signed as a test driver for the 2014 season, claimed he had a contract to race for the Swiss team this season. A court had sided with van der Garde on Monday, but Sauber had decided to appeal the decision. However, on Thursday, the appeal verdict ruled in favour of van der Garde, meaning the Dutchman is entitled to race this weekend.
