Sauber appeal Van Der Garde court victory
The court case embroiling Giedo Van Der Garde & the Sauber team is rolling on for another day, as the Swiss team have appealed the court's decision. Last night, we reported that Giedo Van Der Garde had been successful in his bid to have his 2015 Sauber contract legally enforced. The Dutch driver had launched action against Sauber after the team hired Felipe Nasr & Marcus Ericsson to drive the Sauber C34s this year, with the contracted Van Der Garde forced out. The verdict was read at 11pm GMT on Tuesday night: Van Der Garde's application was successful, and Sauber are legally obliged to run the Dutchman in one of their cars, replacing either Nasr or Ericsson.
