Honda Power Unit ‘Not Mature Right Now'

Honda Motorsport Chief Yasuhisa Arai admitted that their power unit was still behind where they wanted to be in testing – explaining McLaren's disappointing performance so far. Honda are already slightly on the back foot to other engine suppliers having joined the sport one year later than the start of the new regulations introducing the V6 hybrid units. They therefore are seen by many as being at a disadvantage at having missed a year of race running and the valuable data this produces.
