Maldonado encouraged by early progress at Lotus
Pastor Maldonado says he is pleased with the early progress made by Lotus after two days of testing the new E23 Hybrid at Jerez.
The car made its debut on track on Monday, after delays meant the Enstone-based outfit was forced to miss the first day of winter testing.
The E23 hit the track earlier than expected on day two, with Maldonado completing 41 laps. He added 96 more to his tally on Tuesday and finished fifth fastest.
However, Maldonado's first run was delayed due to a telemetry problem and he caused the third and final red flag of the day after stopping on the back straight with one minute remaining.
