Mercedes W06 Hybrid breaks cover at icy Silverstone

The follow-up to the dominant 2014 Mercedes AMG PETRONAS W05 Hybrid has made its track debut after running a few laps of the Silverstone Circuit during a designated filming day. The Mercedes AMG PETRONAS W06 Hybrid was first in the hands of last years Formula 1 championship runner up Nico Rosberg, before being handed over to World Champion Lewis Hamilton. After leaving the pit lane for the first time at 1:13pm, the car, powered by their PU106B hybrid power unit, completed eighteen laps (47.2 kilometres) in total before the session was curtailed by a snow blizzard.
