F1: Palmer confirmed as Lotus third driver

Reigning GP2 Series Champion Jolyon Palmer has been named as third driver at Lotus for the 2015 F1 season. Palmer, the first British driver to win the GP2 Series since two-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton did so back in 2006, will drive in a “significant” number of free practice 1 sessions, as well as contributing to the car's testing and development during the season. He will also fulfil the role of reserve and stand in for either Romain Grosjean or Pastor Maldonado should the need arise. “I'm delighted to be moving into F1 with Lotus F1 Team this year as third driver and I'm very grateful for the opportunity they have given me,” said Palmer, who won the 2014 GP2 title in...
