Russia scraps plans for Sochi night race in 2015

The Russian Grand Prix will remain a day light race after scrapping plans to follow in Singapore's steps and host the event at night this year. The Sochi circuit has the necessary equipment to run the event under floodlights according to circuit consultant Richard Cregan, who last year hinted that the event would be a night race. "The infrastructure is there to supply the power for the lighting system, and that has already been checked," he said. "It is only a matter of decisions being made."
