Kevin Magnussen named Danish Driver of the Year

Kevin Magnussen has been voted the Danish Driver of the Year at the annual motorsport awards despite not doing enough to secure a second season in F1 with McLaren. Magnussen finished his debut grand prix in second place last March, but this would prove to be the high point of a season that would yield just 55 points, leaving him 11th in the final drivers' standings. With Fernando Alonso joining McLaren from Ferrari, the British team was left to choose between Magnussen and his teammate, Jenson Button, with the latter eventually getting the nod.
