Watson: Several years for McLaren recovery
– Ex-McLaren Formula 1 driver John Watson believes that it will take several seasons before the squad is in a position to regularly compete for Grand Prix victories with returning engine manufacturer Honda.Having won eight world titles together between 1988 and 1992, McLaren has persistently talked up its chances of a revival with the famous Japanese brand.But Watson, who spent five campaigns at McLaren from 1979, reckons a winning formula is unlikely to be found in the early stages of their latest partnership."I feel it's going to take a little bit of time for that whole package to blend, and for McLaren to come back to the level in Formula 1 that they used to enjoy,"...
