The impact of F1's new Super Licence rules

– Alongside a minimum age of 18, 300km of testing and an examination on Formula 1's regulations, young drivers must have amassed 40 points over the previous three years across junior categories to qualify for the FIA's Super Licence from 2016. GPUpdate.net takes a look at the historical impact of the new rules.Of the current 18 Formula 1 drivers, six would not have met the points criteria had the 2016 regulations been used at the nascent period of their careers.The most prevalent are the likes of Jenson Button and Kimi Räikkönen, who spent only a very brief period in junior formulas.
