Hamilton keeps No. 44 to defend title
Lewis Hamilton will not defend his title this year with a number 1 on his Mercedes. Instead the Briton has opted to continue with his defining number 44. An entry list for the 2015 Formula One season released by governing body FIA revealed that for the first time in 22 years a championship will be held without any driver running the coveted No. 1 – reserved for the defending champion - on their cars. The last time the grid didn't feature a No. 1 was in 1994, when 1993 champion Alain Prost retired.
