Robin Frijns confirms Caterham departure

Robin Frijns has confirmed that his partnership with Caterham F1 Team has come to an end today following the expiration of his contract. The Dutchman enjoyed a very successful junior career, winning the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 championship ahead of Jules Bianchi and also winning one GP2 race in 2013. However, Frijns has not managed to find a full-time seat in F1 over the past two years, and joined Caterham at the beginning of 2014 as a reserve driver. He enjoyed practice run-outs in Bahrain and Great Britain, but was not given a chance of making his full F1 debut when the team elected to run Andre Lotterer in Belgium and Will Stevens in Abu Dhabi.
