Vergne becomes 14th ex-F1 driver to join Formula E
Having been dropped by Toro Rosso for the 2015 Formula One season, Jean-Eric Vergne has joined the inaugural Formula E championship for the third round of the new series. The Frenchman will join the Andretti team in the championship that races electric cars for the next race in Uruguay this weekend and will partner compatriot Franck Montagny, who raced for the Super Aguri F1 team in 2006. 'It's not often that you get to race at this time of the year,' Vergne said. 'Although I have no experience in this new series, I am excited about the prospect.
