Maldonado hoping for improved qualifying pace in Abu Dhabi
Pastor Maldonado is hoping for improved qualifying pace at the final round of the 2014 Formula 1 season in Abu Dhabi.
The Venezuelan believes the Lotus F1 Team can score a good result at the Yas Marina Circuit, but he says qualifying higher up the grid is crucial.
He was the slowest of the 18 runners in qualifying at the last race in Brazil and lined up 16th on the grid. Despite more encouraging race pace, he could only finish 12th.
'I think it’s going to be tough for us in general to be honest but it shouldn’t be too bad,' he said when asked about the race, which is a double points round.
