Kubica 'turned down F1 test' in 2013
– Robert Kubica says he turned down the opportunity to test a Formula 1 car in 2013 in order to protect himself, as he would have been unable to make a return to racing. Kubica raced in Formula 1 for BMW and Renault between 2006 and 2010 before suffering a serious injury during a rallying accident in February 2011.The accident has left him with reduced mobility in his right arm and while he has been able to make a return to competiton in the World Rally Championship, his foray back into the Formula 1 world extended as far as a few simulation runs with Mercedes.While he believes that he would have been comfortable returning to the cockpit of a Formula 1 car, Kubica turned down the...
