Raikkonen: Team points more important

Kimi Raikkonen says points for Ferrari were more important than trying to beat team-mate Fernando Alonso in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Late in the race, Alonso – on a three-stop strategy – closed in on the two-stopping Raikkonen and found his way through after a number of failed attempts. An earlier pit stop had cost Raikkonen time and asked if he could have beaten Alonso without the problem, he replied: “Probably yes, but it's the same points for the team. “In the end in this kind of season it makes no really big difference for myself and for the team as we get the same points.” Raikkonen also gave short shrift to the on-track battle with Alonso. “It was normal racing really.
