Marussia joins Caterham in missing Austin
Marussia F1 Team
Marussia is set to join Caterham in missing next weekend's United States Grand Prix, Formula 1 head Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed.
Caterham was originally set to be absent from the event after administrators stepped in and took control of the beleaguered outfit.
But with Marussia also struggling financially, Ecclestone says that neither squad will make the trip to Austin, with freight scheduled to be taken to the race on Saturday.
"Neither of those two teams are going to go to America," he told Reuters.
The decision means that Formula 1 will be reduced to a nine-team 18 car grid for the first time since the 2005 Monaco Grand Prix, when BAR-Honda was banned...
