Sam Michael to leave McLaren at end of the season

Sutton Images Enlarge McLaren has confirmed its sporting director Sam Michael will leave the team at the end of the season after he handed in his resignation in March. Michael will return to Australia with his family after more than 20 years working for Formula One teams in the UK. He joined McLaren in 2011 after resigning as Williams technical director earlier that year and took on the role of sporting director at the start of 2012. The team added that Michael is leaving on good terms. McLaren also denied reports acting CEO Jonathan Neale and technical director Tim Goss will leave, stating: "They are not leaving and there are no plans for them to leave." McLaren has undergone a...
