Rosberg leads Japan first practice from Hamilton
Nico Rosberg headed the times in the opening practice session for the Japanese Grand Prix with Mercedes grabbing yet another one-two slot on Friday. The German was 0.151 seconds quicker than teammate and championship rival Lewis Hamilton, who appeared to struggle in the Degner corners, in what was largely an uneventful session. Fernando Alonso was third in the Ferrari, ahead of Williams' Valtteri Bottas and fellow Finn Kimi Raikkonen, who continued to show signs of improvement.
