Mercedes says 'foreign substance' contaminated Rosberg's car

Mercedes AMG Petronas Mercedes has revealed that a 'foreign substance' contaminated Nico Rosberg's Mercedes prior to the Singapore Grand Prix, which ultimately led to his retirement. Rosberg retired at Marina Bay due to a steering wheel column loom failure and Mercedes has now revealed that the contamination occurred prior to the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, but did not manifest itself until the German attempted to leave the pits prior to the race. 'Forensic analysis has revealed that the steering column electronic circuits were contaminated with a foreign substance', said Mercedes.
