Alonso tops first session at Singapore
Fernando Alonso was the fastest man on track during the first practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix. The Spaniard topped the Mercedes duo, headed by Lewis Hamilton.
Possibly the strangest moment of the session came 5 minutes from the end when Jean-Eric Vergne halted at the end of the pitlane. As both Williams were close behind, they had to be pushed back first before they could go round the Toro Rosso, before Vergne himself was being pushed back into his team's garage after a short sprint through the pitlane by a few mechanics.
