Pirelli Reveal Kvyat As Fastest Driver On Medium Compound

As predicted heading in to the weekend, a one-stop strategy for the Italian Grand Prix was in full effect across the grid, with just Esteban Gutierrez bucking the trend after he was forced to make 3 stops due to various incidents. With the top 10 on the grid all starting on medium tyres there was no advantage, but further down the grid Daniil Kvyat started in the harder compound in twenty first place. This allowed the Russian to complete a 30-lap opening stint before switching to the softer tyre. Unfortunately a brake issue would see Kvyat's progress hampered in the final stages of the race.
