Bottas confident of challenging Mercedes during the Italian GP
+ Valtteri Bottas is confident he can challenge Mercedes during Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix.
Bottas will start the race third, behind the two Mercedes team-mates of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, and alongside his Williams team-mate Felipe Massa on the second row of the grid.
And while the Finn was half a second down on Hamilton, the pace setter in the final part of qualifying, he remains hopeful that his Friday pace, where he looked strong on long-runs, should be enough to challenge the Silver Arrows duringSunday’s race.
“I really hope so,” said Bottas, when asked if he could prove a challenge to the two Mercedes team-mates during the race.
