Rosberg gains from Hamilton's misfortunes in Monza practice

Nico Rosberg posted the quickest time in practice for the Italian Grand Prix on Friday but he went through the session largely unchallenged as Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton was afflicted by reliability issues. Hamilton lost nearly an hour after the power unit in his car threw up electrical issues forcing the mechanics to strip his Mercedes, investigate and rectify the problem. The Briton joined the track only for the final half an hour and posted a time only six-hundredths slower than Rosberg. Hamilton could have been quicker but traffic affected his lap and on his earlier hot lap he made a mistake and locked up at Turn 1 nearly losing the rear of his car. The loss of track time would...
