Baku race deal signed for 2016
The Government House in Baku is set to be part of the backdrop for the race Getty Images Enlarge Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that Azerbaijan has signed a contract to host a grand prix on the streets of Baku in 2016, which will be known as the Grand Prix of Europe. The deal was announced on Friday by Azerbaijan's ministry for youth and sport, although the exact layout of the circuit is not yet confirmed. However, the organisers envisage that the main grandstand and pits will be in Azadliq Square and that the racetrack will include major roads and landmarks such as Neftchilar Avenue, Government House and Maiden Tower.
