Mattiacci: Gaps are coming down
Ferrari team principal Marco Mattiacci believes the Austrian Grand Prix showed the gaps are coming down between the frontrunners. While the result was another Mercedes one-two, both Williams cars pushed the championship leaders hard, with Fernando Alonso finishing strongly but unable to pass Felipe Massa for fourth place. Mattiacci said it was clear that the Mercedes-powered teams had an advantage in Austria but was encouraged by the progress Ferrari made towards the front. “The way this season is going becomes particularly evident when one races at a track where what counts the most is the power of the car,” Mattiacci said. “[In Austria], we tried to get the most out of what we have...
