Rosberg edges out Hamilton to take victory in Austria
Nico Rosberg stormed to his third win of the 2014 season after holding off his team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the closing stages of the Austrian Grand Prix.
It was a near faultless drive from the German, who extended his lead in the championship. Hamilton recovered well after his qualifying error but he just missed out on the victory by 1.9 seconds.
Conditions were warm and dry for the start of the race – 23 degrees air temperature and 45 degrees track temperature. Felipe Massa started on pole position after capitalising on the Mercedes driver's woes, with his team-mate Valtteri Bottas lining up alongside him.
