Hamilton edges out Rosberg for pole

Lewis Hamilton claimed his fourth pole position of the season in a close scrap with Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg at the Spanish Grand Prix. Hamilton edged out Rosberg by 0.168s to take his first pole at the track, with Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo over a second further back in third. Valtteri Bottas took a commendable fourth place, while Romain Grosjean excelled in Q3 by qualifying in fifth position. Ferrari had a more difficult day as Kimi Räikkönen and home favourite Fernando Alonso could manage only sixth and seventh.
