Spanish Grand Prix could be set for rebrand
– The Spanish Grand Prix could be renamed in the not-too-distant future, with organisers keen to swap the word 'Spanish' for 'Barcelona'. The Catalunya track was re-branded 'Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya' in September last year after a sponsorship agreement was signed between the Circuit and the Barcelona City Council. It had previously just been the 'Circuit de Catalunya'. Following this change, circuit boss Salvador Servia, now wants to go a step further. "The 'Barcelona' brand outsells the 'Spain' brand, and it also outsells 'Catalunya' or Montmeló," he told Catalunya Radio.
