Senna was Ferrari-bound - Montezemolo
Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo has revealed that Ayrton Senna would have moved to Maranello had he not died at Imola in 1994.
Senna had joined Williams at the start of the 1994 season as a replacement for Alain Prost, but was involved in a fatal crash in just the third race for his new team.
"He wanted to come to Ferrari and I wanted him in the team," Montezemolo told the Ferrari website during a tribute to the Brazilian legend, who won three Drivers' Championship titles with McLaren.
Montezemolo added that he invited Senna to his Bologna home a couple of days before the race at Imola, where the Brazilian revealed that he believed Ferrari would be the best place for him to...
