McLaren’s woes continue with uncompetitive qualifying in China
McLaren's hopes of re-establishing their strong start to the season were dealt a further blow during qualifying for Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix, as Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen were both knocked out in Q2. The duo will line-up 12th and 15th on the grid respectively, with the inclement weather conditions playing a major factor in the outcome of their session.
Despite high hopes heading into the new Formula 1 season, not least due to the surprise return of Ron Dennis, McLaren have seemingly slipped further down the order since the opening round of the season in Australia where the duo of Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button joined eventual race winner Nico Rosberg on the podium.
